Ailsa Tavares - Managing Director
With a journey in the travel industry spanning three decades & two continents, Ailsa’s career began at an award winning luxury tour operator in the UK. In the 1990’s, she contributed in the early years to one of South Africa’s largest inbound/outbound operators. Returning to the UK with her South African husband, a sales role at an Indian Ocean hotel group piqued Ailsa’s interest for sales & in 2003 Travel Promoters was born, initially offering contracted services for tour operators & an African travel association.
Ailsa enjoys longstanding global relationships, forged over the years and is fortunate to be supported by an amazing team who share her passion & consistent drive to exceed expectations, achieve the goals set by our partners and have fun whilst doing it. Her favourite quote is “Opportunity is missed by many, because it’s dressed in overalls & looks like work”
Leanne Grobler - Account Director
South African born, Leanne has been in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years, fulfilling various roles in the sales; marketing and PR sectors with key, luxury trade partners.
Leanne is passionate about hospitality, travel and tourism. Sound, reliable client relationships form the basis of her work ethos. Her diverse work experience has allowed her to gain invaluable knowledge and experience, representing various portfolios, showcasing luxury island retreats, game lodges, boutique hotels and private villas.
Having now settled, with her family, in England Leanne continues to thrive, by sharing her passion for travel, in our ever-evolving industry. If you chat on zoom, there is a good chance her cat or dog, Chase, will make an appearance.
Rosanna Pearce - Account Manager
After achieving a BA (Hons) in Media and Cultural Studies, Rosanna began her career in travel at a leading tour operator. From there she joined another luxury operator, as part of their sales team, conducting training, hosting events & building strong working relationships with trade partners. After a sojourn into the NHS, Rosanna realised her passion for travel was too strong and is now a valuable member of our team.
Rosanna brings a strong, sympathetic understanding of what is needed to ensure we forge honest, lasting and fruitful working relationships on behalf of our partners.
When not at her desk, meeting partners or on zoom, she is busy managing the activities of her 3 children, including twins. We think that earns her the title of ‘multi-tasker extraordinaire’ and all whilst remaining as cool as a cucumber!
Tracey Holmes-Carter - Account Manager
Originally from South Africa and having lived in the UK for several years, Tracey has varied experience in the travel industry spanning more than 20 years.
Bilingual, having held positions at key DMC & adventure companies in South Africa & at a UK Africa specialist tour operator, Tracey has travelled extensively, especially in Africa, her destination knowledge is a valuable asset.
When not working or enjoying family life, Tracey boasts impressive qualifications including a qualified Rescue Diver, Swimming instructor and is currently studying a post grad in Digital Marketing.
Public Relations & Social Media
Claire Roadley - Umlingo
Claire, also originally from South Africa, has 25+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, copywriting and social media for the tourism industry. Travel Promoters engages Umlingo on an ongoing basis, calling upon Claire’s vast Travel PR experience and almost endless ‘little magic book of media contacts’ to assist with our Social Media and PR activity, adding exposure and value to each of our partner relationships.
Claire’s clients include other well known African products and services including Nianova, Bushtops Safari Camps, Onguma & Our Africa Travel event. She manages a busy household & keeps up with her 3 sons. We genuinely think Claire has invented a 24 working day!
