Today, Ol Lentille introduces a new way to experience its 40,000 acres of wilderness: the Ol Lentille Fly Camp.

This is safari stripped back to its most meaningful elements — still comfortable, still hosted with care, but intentionally closer to the earth, the night sky, and the stories that have shaped this landscape for generations.

A Camp Hidden in the Conservancy

The Fly Camp sits in a secret corner of the conservancy, chosen for its views, its solitude, and its sense of discovery. It’s rustic in the right ways and comfortable where it matters.

What guests can expect:

• A simple, scenic camp set up exclusively for one group at a time

• A full bar for sundowners and a hearty barbecue dinner

Ol Lentille’s partnership with its Maasai and Samburu neighbours is central to everything the lodge does — and the Fly Camp is no exception.

During the evening:

• Local elders join guests around the campfire, sharing stories, traditions, and the oral histories passed down through generations

• A Maasai star reader — part of a lineage of celestial interpreters — guides guests through the night sky, explaining how stars have long been used to understand past events and anticipate those yet to come

It’s an intimate, absorbing encounter with culture that is still lived, still practiced, and still deeply respected.

Morning in a Wild, Untouched Corner of Laikipia

Before sunrise, guests head out on an early morning game drive in a seldom-visited part of the conservancy. Wildlife is at its most active, and the sense of exploration is palpable — this is Ol Lentille at its rawest and most beautiful.

How Fly Camping Works

• Available only for stays of 3 nights or more

• Booked for one night, usually mid-stay

• Two guest tents accommodating up to 4 guests

• Exclusive use — one group at a time

• Your guide and armed askaris stay at camp overnight

• $1000 per camp, regardless of guest numbers

• Access by foot or vehicle — both options feel like a small adventure
